Since its establishment as a school of education and later on as a faculty, the Faculty of Education has gained a prominent place and an outstanding reputation as a leading research, academic and professional home to diverse groups of students and faculty seeking to inquire, understand and improve the complex world of learning, teaching and education. The multifaceted platform of programs and partnerships that have been initiated, developed and sustained throughout the years, lay a solid foundation for undertaking exciting future directions.

Situated at the heart of a city characterized by multicultural and socio-economic diversity, and capitalizing on its intellectual riches, future directions will also seek to establish relevant liaisons between the Faculty of Education and educational institutions (including formal and informal educational organizations and contexts) in the city of Haifa and its surroundings. The endorsement of research projects and collaborations between the community and the faculty can direct the development of innovative practices that are ecological, social, communicative and technologically enhanced, hence, attending to the global call in education towards reinforcing connections and establishing relevant dialogues between research, policy and educational practice at local, community levels.

As the Dean, I am honored and challenged to take an active role in the leadership of this wonderful community of scholars, researchers, teachers and practitioners–in a joint endeavor towards further enhancement of academic excellence, professionalism, leadership and educational innovation.
