Research Assistant for a Citizen Science Project
The Road Signs for an Accessible Space project has been running in schools for several years, and its goal is to promote and support safe walking for people with visual impairments. The project involves the knowledge areas of mapping and geo-information, geography, sciences, citizenship, and community social engagement. The project was conducted within the framework of the Center for the Advancement of Citizen Science in Schools, TCSS, a joint effort between researchers from the Technion and the University of Haifa.
A research assistant is needed to support the ongoing activities of the project and develop new modules to advance the project. The percentage of the position (student salary) is 25% (approximately 40 monthly hours): Writing reference materials, such as guides, presentations and virtual aids Processing mapping data (OSM) collected by students (knowledge of GIS and Python is an advantage), and producing products (reports, articles) Supporting students and teachers, including, among other things, visiting schools and training (working with a dedicated mapping application), answering questions (telephone, WhatsApp, email) More about the project: Research Assistant for a Civil Project />

What is the role?
* Providing professional support in the supervision system under the education departments in the districts: Haifa, Tel Aviv, Central, South and Jerusalem.
* Contacting daycare centers to schedule visits, prepare inspection reports and quality supervision.
* Daily reporting to the project manager, including ongoing monitoring of daycare centers where inspections were carried out to verify improvements and correctness.
* Preparing a monthly report on the actual number of visits and sharing insights.
Job requirements:
* Master’s degree in education with a specialization in early childhood or child development – required!
* Two years of experience in pedagogical guidance or 5 years in daycare management – required!
Employment conditions:
* Full-time position, Sunday-Thursday, working hours: 08:00 – 16:00.
* Salary – 97 ₪ per hour / ₪ 14,000 monthly salary.
* Up to ₪ 800 monthly travel reimbursement.
* Continuing education fund after six months of work.

The emergency center for at-risk children in early childhood “Beit Shabtai Levi” is looking for guides.
– Part-time position, in shifts, with flexible hours, also suitable for students in therapeutic professions.
– The role of the guide does not require special training.
We are looking for guides with a broad heart, with a desire to give meaning and a chance to young children who need us, to nurse and heal the wounds and difficult experiences they have gone through in their short lives.
The children who come to us need our protection, accompaniment and care. They need us adults so that we can teach them to trust adults again.
To do this, what is needed?

Working shifts includes nights, Saturdays and holidays

Job Description:

Job Requirements:
- Academic education – a recognized master’s degree from an institution of higher education in Israel or from an institution of higher education abroad that has received equivalence approval from the Department for the Evaluation of Academic Degrees Abroad. In a religious school, Torah education is also desirable.
- Pedagogical education – a certified teacher’s certificate or a senior certified teacher for secondary education or a teaching certificate for secondary education from a recognized institution for training teaching staff or a permanent teaching license in secondary education or a license to practice teaching in secondary education or a university teaching certificate from an academic institution in Israel for secondary education.
Notes: A. A graduate certificate from the “Mandel” School for Educational Leadership will be recognized as meeting the requirement for a teaching certificate.
B. Regarding the alternative of a permanent teaching license in secondary education or a license to practice teaching, a teaching certificate should not be sufficient without completing the procedure for obtaining a permanent teaching license or a license to practice teaching from the Senior Division for Human Resources in Teaching or receiving confirmation of eligibility for a license by the deadline for submitting candidacy forms for a vacant management position.
- School management training – a certificate of completion of a course (or confirmation of eligibility for a certificate) of the school principal training program, or the candidate’s commitment upon entering the position to begin a 70-hour principal training course, a milestone track, approved by Avnei Rosha.
A teaching employee who is elected to the position of school principal before completing all of his duties (eligibility) within the framework of the program will be required to complete his duties In full until the end of the program and at the latest 24 months from the date of receipt of the appointment, if he does not complete all of the duties as required, his appointment will be canceled. Teaching experience: At least 5 years of actual teaching experience in elementary and/or secondary schools (grades 1-12 and up) supervised by the Ministry of Education, to the extent that qualifies for teaching seniority.
