PDS

PDS

The partnership model PDS (professional development schools) is a model for teacher training, which deals with creating learning communities  where all those engaged in education are are involved as participants in the process: student teachers, teacher trainers, scholars, teachers and mentors from school and other officials at the school. Such communities enable the partners to experience a process of constant learning and research that should lead to their professional development. The model invites ways to link the academic culture of the training institution and the culture of teaching and educational work in schools.

As part of the training of teachers according to the PDS model, student teachers come to school one day a week with a coordinator and experience  different areas of activity of the school – teaching in the discipline, individualized instruction with students, taking part in various school activities, active participation in the school projects, meeting with officials and others.

The broad experience is made possible by a partnership that exists between the academic institution and the school.
